Garden Viewing in Appeltern
Inspiration and information
‘De Tuinen van Appeltern’ are widely considered the only park in the Netherlands to offer objective garden information. All the Dutch garden products and plants are used in a wide range of different situations and styles. You will see more than 190 model gardens in the park. Throughout the park you will see signs with the names of the manufacturers, growers, designers and horticulturists. Full address details can be found in the brochure, which will be handed out at the entrance. The Gardens of Appeltern have been laid out to inspire, inform but most of all to enjoy.
A wonderful day out
‘De Tuinen van Appeltern’ is situated in the beautiful region ‘Land van Maas en Waal’. At several places you will have a magnificent view and you can enjoy the silence. The gardens cover over 15 hectares. To be able to see everything in the park, you should at least be there for half a day.
More than gardens only
Besides the many model gardens you will find a broad plant market, a sculpture garden, a melody garden, a playground for the children and a library. Of course there are several characteristic terraces, plazas and restaurants.
Nice events and theme days
A day in ‘De Tuinen van Appeltern’ is different every day. During the season various special events will take place. You will for instance see artists at work during "Inspired by nature” and be able to taste the harvest during the "Apple- and dwarf party”.
‘De Tuinen van Appeltern’ is a source of information, enjoyment and inspiration for everyone.

Route
From the direction of Apeldoorn, Arnhem
Follow
the A50 in the direction of ’s-Hertogenbosch. At Ewijk junction take
exit Druten (N322). At the T-splitting turn left in the direction of
Appeltern/Oss. Follow after four kilometres the signs that lead you to
De Tuinen van Appeltern.
From the direction of Utrecht
A2 in the direction
of ’s-Hertogenbosch. At Deil junction follow the A15 in the direction
of Nijmegen, take exit Leeuwen (exit nr. 34). At the end of the exit
turn right in the direction of Leeuwen, cross over the
Prins-Willem-Alexander bridge. After the bridge turn left in the
direction of Nijmegen (N322). Turn right at the third roundabout in the
direction of Appeltern/Oss. After four kilometres you will see the signs
that lead you to De Tuinen van Appeltern.
From the direction of ’s-Hertogenbosch
A2 in the
direction of Utrecht. Take exit Kerkdriel (exitnr. 19). At the end of
the exit turn left in the direction of Nijmegen (N322). Turn right at
the 7th roundabout in the direction of Appeltern. After four kilometres
follow the signs that lead you to De Tuinen van Appeltern.
From the direction of Rotterdam, Gorinchem
A15
in the direction of Nijmegen. Take the exit Leeuwen (exit nr. 34). Turn
right at the end of exit Leeuwen, cross over the Prins-Willem-Alexander
bridge. After the bridge turn left in the direction of Nijmegen (N322).
Turn right at the third roundabout in the direction of Appeltern/Oss.
After four kilometres you will see the signs that lead you to De Tuinen
van Appeltern.
From the direction of Venlo (Limburg)
A73 in the
direction of Nijmegen/Arnhem. After that take the N322 in the direction
of Zaltbommel / Druten. Keep following the N322 until T-splitting. Turn
left in the direction of Appeltern / Oss. Follow after four kilometres
the signs that lead you to De Tuinen van Appeltern.
From the train station Tiel, Nijmegen and Wijchen you can take the ‘Regiotaxi Rivierenland’ (regional taxi) to De Tuinen van Appeltern. Train station Wijchen is closest to Appeltern.
